100 km Course : practical walking information
The event offers a 100 km course on a flat, macadam circuit that includes a short town loop and three long loops of 32.950 km each. The route runs mainly through countryside with two passages through the village per lap, so walkers pass support points often.
This course is aimed at runners and athletic walkers because participants must complete 100 km within a 14 hour limit. Nordic walking with poles is allowed. Accompanying persons are permitted; one companion at a time is allowed per participant and must wear a paid badge. Bicycle companions may join only from the 6th kilometre; the path to that point is signposted from the sports hall.
Refreshment and support are frequent and practical for walkers. There is roughly one aid post every 5 km, with six posts per lap (18 in total). Drinks include water, juice, cola, glucose solution and hot drinks. Solid food includes fruits, bananas, biscuits, chocolate, cheese and bread. Since 2022, disposable cups are not used and a reusable cup is required to access aid stations.
Facilities at the sports hall near the course include parking, guarded showers, toilets and changing rooms. Some food outlets serve simple meals during the event near the hall. Race numbers must be visible for controls and are returned at the sports hall on stopping. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
