11 Stedenwandeltocht : 5-day route
The 5-day program leads walkers along the historic eleven Frisian towns over a total of 208 kilometers. The route is divided into five daily stages that follow roads, towpaths and rural trails through Friesland’s towns and countryside. Walkers who complete the full route receive the official 11 Stedenwandelkruisje.
Daily stages
- Dag 1 Leeuwarden – Sloten: 49 km
- Dag 2 Sloten – Workum: 42.5 km
- Dag 3 Workum – Franeker: 44 km
- Dag 4 Franeker – Dokkum: 43.5 km
- Dag 5 Dokkum – Leeuwarden: 29 km
Practical information for walkers: each day starts from a designated start location and finishes in the next town, with bus transport available in the morning from the finish back to the start. Participants who walk the full five days can opt for breakfast or lunch packs and evening meals on selected days. Bagagevervoer is offered for those arranging their own overnight stays. The event is held during the week of Ascension and takes place across multiple consecutive days, so walkers should plan accommodation and logistics accordingly.
