20 km de Bruxelles : walking information
The event offers a walking option over a single distance of 20 km on a course that links major monuments in the City and Region of Brussels. The route is timed with a maximum allowed time of five hours for completion. Walkers start from the Parc du Cinquantenaire and follow the same urban course used by other participant categories; parts of the route pass through the Bois de la Cambre where an isotonic drink is distributed.
Along the course there are six water stations supplying SPA water in reusable cups. Medical assistance from the Red Cross is positioned along the route. A luggage cloakroom is available free of charge in the Royal Army Museum (Hall of Air); paid lockers are nearby. Participants must wear the issued race bib and may collect their bib in advance at the organiser’s office or the event INFO stand; same-day pickup is restricted and generally not possible for local participants.
Practical points relevant to walkers: minimum age is 12, the number of participants is limited, and entrants are advised to have a medical check-up. The participant receives a medal at the finish and can pay to have the finish time engraved on it. Options available for registrants include home delivery of the bib within Belgium and engraving at the INFO stand for an extra fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
