Walking through Zandvoort
The 30 van Zandvoort is a walking event that takes participants through and around the famous Dutch seaside resort. The routes focus on a combination of nature, culture, and atmosphere. Walkers can choose between two main distances:
- 20 km
- 30 km
The event starts at Paddock 2 of Circuit Zandvoort, a location reachable within a 15 minute walk from the train station. There is an optional "One Lap" addition where walkers can complete a 4 km loop on the racing circuit at sunrise before continuing their route.
Terrain and surroundings
The courses offer a diverse landscape including the North Sea beach and the dunes of Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. The 30 km route passes landmarks such as Landgoed Duin & Kruidberg, the Ruins of Brederode, and Openluchttheater Caprera. The 20 km route visits the Vogelmeer and the Middenduin area, including Landgoed Duinlust.
Practical information
The event features various stamp stations and rest areas, such as Paviljoen het Witte Huis. Due to the heavy terrain of the dunes and beach, the event is not suitable for strollers or people with limited mobility. Dogs are not permitted as parts of the route pass through protected nature reserves. The walk concludes with a celebration at Gasthuisplein in the center of Zandvoort.
