AG Belgian Coast Walk : practical walking details
The event offers multiple marked walking routes along the Belgian coast, mostly on beach, through dunes and along coastal towns. Distances available on Saturday are:
- 80 km
- 60 km
- 42 km
- 25 km
- 10 km
All distances finish in Knokke-Heist. The 80 km starts in De Panne. Walkers on the 60 km join the route near Nieuwpoort. The 42 km starts in Oostende and the 25 km starts in De Haan. Participants on the 10 km both start and finish in Knokke-Heist.
From 2027 the 42 km, 25 km and 10 km are also offered on Sunday, using the same exact route and the same supply points as Saturday. The routes are mapped and supported by local walking clubs, and organised under Golazo Sports in cooperation with Wandelsport Vlaanderen. Practical information pages exist for each distance, detailing checkpoints and logistics. Terrain is coastal: sand, dune paths and paved sections through seaside resorts, so walkers should expect mixed underfoot conditions and plan footwear and pacing accordingly.
