Walking routes and distances
Bourges-Sancerre offers three distinct walking routes through the Berry countryside:
- 56 km: The emblematic night walk from Bourges to Sancerre with 700 meters of elevation gain.
- 30.5 km: An intermediate hike starting from Morogues.
- 16.5 km: A hilly route known as La Petite Sancerroise starting in Sancerre.
Event logistics
The main 56 km walk begins at the Saint-Etienne Cathedral in Bourges and follows country roads in the dark. For the 30.5 km route, walkers start from the Morogues village hall. The 16.5 km walk departs from the F. Leca college in Sancerre. All routes finish at the Rempart des Dames in Sancerre.
Practical information
Organizers provide several services to support participants. For the longest distance, baggage transport is available from the Bourges town hall to the finish area. Free shuttles are provided for the 30.5 km walk, transporting participants from Bourges or Sancerre to the starting point in Morogues. Numerous refreshment points are located along the paths. For safety during night walking, a fluorescent vest, individual lighting such as a headlamp, and a survival blanket are mandatory. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
