De 4 van Alkmaar : practical walking details
De 4 van Alkmaar is a four-day walking event in North Holland with organised routes through polder, dunes and villages such as Bergen and Heiloo. Walkers can choose from five distances and follow daily routes that start and finish in Alkmaar.

The first three walking days start inside the Grote Kerk and finish at the Canadaplein. The final day starts at the Canadaplein and finishes at the Waagplein in Alkmaar. Route descriptions are provided for each day (Heart of West, East, South and North). Stamp posts (stempelposten) are available along the routes and participants receive a stempelkaart. The stempelkaart can be collected during the official opening in the Grote Kerk on Tuesday evening, or on Wednesday morning; for the Vierde van de 4 the card is ready on Saturday.
