Walking Event in Egmond
The Fjoertoer Egmond is a walking event that features light art and various acts along the routes. All distances start at Hotel Zuiderduin in Egmond aan Zee and lead participants through diverse landscapes, including dunes, polders, and historic village centers. The final section of every route takes walkers across the beach toward the finish line at De Werf, located near the main beach entrance.
Routes and Distances
Walkers can choose from four distinct distances:
- 20 km Full Fjoertoer Experience with over 50 light artworks
- 16 km route via Egmond-Binnen and Egmond aan den Hoef
- 12 km route through the polder and Egmond aan den Hoef
- 6 km Family Fjoertoer suitable for families with children
Course Conditions and Facilities
The routes include rest stops and stamp stations at locations such as the Abbey of Egmond, local sports clubs, and a brewery. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers due to heavy terrain and the presence of stairs. Dogs are permitted only if they are on a leash and equipped with lights.
