Megamarsch Stuttgart : walking overview
The event offers two main walking distances:
- 50 km
- 100 km
The route runs around Stuttgart across hills, forests and vineyards, and includes about 1610 metres of total ascent. The 100 km option includes a clear intermediate point at 50 km and is organised as a 24 hour challenge with a checkpoint at the halfway mark. Start and finish are at the Phoenixhalle im Römerkastell in Stuttgart.
Support along the route is provided by fixed catering stations: two stations on the 50 km route and four stations on the 100 km route. Participants receive a walk pass and stamps at start and finish; a certificate is issued from the second catering station onward. Finishers receive medallions for completing 50 km or 100 km and there are recognitions for completing both distances.
Route details are released as a Komoot download two weeks before the event and may be changed for safety or organisational reasons. The organiser inspects and marks the route shortly before the event and may adapt it if parts are temporarily impassable. Station opening times are calculated on an average pace between 4.2 km/h and 6 km/h. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
