Spreewald-Marathon walking options and practical details
The Spreewald-Marathon offers several organised walking and hiking routes around the Spreewald region, with event centres in Burg, Lübbenau and Straupitz. The terrain is lowland and riverine within the Spreewald biosphere reserve, with village sections and natural paths along waterways.
Available walking distances:
- 21,0975 km Half marathon walk
- 10 km walk
- 5 km Lübbenau night walk
- 4,5 km Burg night walk
Routes and maps (kml/gpx) are provided for running, walking, hiking and skating, so walkers can review profiles and navigation before the event. Some organised hikes include a refreshment point at Gasthaus Wotschofska and a Straupitz evening walk that features a short boat connection. There are also longer hiking offers, for example a 21.1 km Spreewald-walk and 12 km Straupitz walk.
Practical notes for walkers: registration is available online (organisers recommend using a laptop or PC for clarity), there is a first registration price stage that ends on 30.09.2026, and a year-round virtual participation option. Medals and certificates can also be obtained on-site or year-round at Bootshaus Leineweber (availability until 25 October). Participants with a recognised severe disability who need a companion can register the companion free on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
