Trans Aubrac : practical walking information
Trans Aubrac proposes several mapped routes across Aveyron and the Aubrac plateaus. Routes and formats include:
- 107.5 km ultra route with significant elevation
- 106.5 km team relay divided in four stages
- 77.0 km long trail
- 52.5 km medium trail
- 13 km shorter trail
- 7 km randonnée (charity walk)
All routes have published total ascent and descent values. The organiser limits entries for each event and lists available bib numbers. Meal and shuttle options are available for participants; meal price is listed and a shuttle fee applies, with the shuttle for the relay open only to the first relay runner. GPX traces for the event are withheld before the race to protect private properties. The organiser recommends using the WAFFAPP application so walkers can identify private property boundaries and areas of sensitive wildlife or flora to avoid. GPX files are prepared for each route and relay stages but access is restricted until the event. Practical documents such as road books and up-to-date info files are provided for participants. For the 7 km randonnée, on-site registration is possible within available bibs and proceeds go to a cancer charity. Distances, elevation figures and limited entry numbers help walkers choose a suitable route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
