Veluwezoom Trail & Walk : walking details
The event starts and finishes at the Veluwse Poort in Dieren. Walks use largely off‑road terrain through the Veluwezoom: single tracks, heath, forest, steep climbs and descents, rooty technical paths and sections of loose sand. Routes are 99% off‑road and fully waymarked with the Cairn Adventures marking method. GPX files are released the Wednesday before the event at 20:00 in agreement with terrain managers.
Available walking distances:
- 7 km
- 15 km
- 24 km
- 31 km
There are marked aid stations on the routes supplying water and sport drink only if walkers carry an ECO cup or reusable cup; some food items are available. Finishers receive an alcohol‑free Weissbier. Organisers offer two start windows (morning and afternoon) to spread participants; specific walk start times and time limits vary by distance and are published in the programme. Participants must follow course signs and volunteer instructions; the route crosses protected estate land managed by Twickel and Middachten, so leaving no waste is required. The start/finish site has parking and is about two kilometres from Dieren train station. Walkers are expected to be self‑sufficient and fit for off‑road terrain.
