Wandelvierdaagse het Gooi : routes and walking terrain
The event offers four daily routes that circle around the town of Laren. Walkers start each day from the sports grounds of sv Laren ’99 and return there in the afternoon. The routes lead through the Gooi, Eemland and the Vechtstreek, presenting a mix of village landscapes, historical buitenplaatsen and open meadows.
Each day has its own named route: De Meentenroute, Buitenplaatsenroute, Vuurscheroute and Tafelbergroute. The courses are arranged in a cloverleaf pattern around Laren, so walkers repeatedly pass near the town while exploring different surroundings. The area has both village streets and rural sections influenced by 19th century artist colonies and country estates.
Route descriptions are published as separate documents for each day. Practical details such as exact route maps and day-by-day descriptions are available in those route files. The event runs over four days in June and starts and finishes daily at the same Laren sports location, which serves as the central meeting point and turning point for the walks.
